Installing your MSN Premium software

Minimum system requirements:

To ensure your MSN Premium software runs properly, you need to validate that your computer meets the minimum system requirements listed below. You can check your system info by clicking on Start > Run and then typing "dxdiag" in the space provided.

  • Microsoft® Windows® 2000 (Service Pack 3), XP (except 64-bit version) or Vista (except 64-bit versions and Starter Edition)
  • Intel® Pentium® class 500 MHz processor
  • 128 MB of RAM
  • Up to 320 MB of hard disk space required for installation (after, up to 180 MB may be sufficient)
  • 56 Kbps dial-up or faster Internet connection using standard Microsoft TCP/IP
  • Microsoft mouse or compatible pointing device
  • 256-color VGA or higher resolution graphics card (minimum resolution 800x600)
  • 16-bit sound card and speakers
  • CD-ROM drive

Note: We regret that there is no support for the Macintosh and for the Windows 95, 98, 98SE, ME and NT operating systems at this time.

Download and installation

You'll be installing MSN Premium in two parts. First, you'll install the MSN Premium browser and secondly, you'll install Bell Internet Security Manager.

  1. Click the Install MSN Premium button below and save the file to your Desktop.



  2. Click the Install Security button and save the file to your Desktop.



  3. To install MSN Premium, double-click the file called msnsusii.exe that you saved on your desktop in step 1.

  4. Click Run and follow the prompts to complete the installation of MSN Premium.
    Once the installation is complete, you'll have an MSN icon on your desktop. You can double-click this icon to log in to MSN Premium.

  5. To install Bell Internet Security Manager, double-click the file called SympaticoSecurityAdvisor_setupSSM.exe that you saved on your desktop in step 2.

  6. Click Run, and follow the prompts to complete the installation of Bell Internet Security Manager.

    During the Bell Internet Security Manager installation, you'll be asked to remove any existing anti-virus and firewall software from your computer. We strongly recommended that you do this.


  7. At the end of the installation is complete, select Yes, I want to restart my computer now and then click Finish.

  8. After restarting your computer, you'll see the following screen:

    Enter user ID_image

    Type in your user ID (b1) and click next to complete the installation. You can find your user ID on the welcome letter that came with your Internet kit.


  9. If the installation process was successful, the following screen will appear:
